The more lash, the better for batting. Find out how you can get longer and fuller lashes.
When it comes to makeup and beauty, the key is always the eyes. They are, after all, the windows to your soul! So how exactly do you make them talk?
Many of us lust after longer eyelashes as they open up the eyes and make them appear bigger and more lively. Here are some must-try methods that will work wonders for creating longer and fuller lashes.
Makeup is the easiest way to create the illusion of longer lashes. Mascara was created with that in mind – to make your lashes look longer and thicker while adding more depth. Hold your mascara wand on the front of your lash base and wiggle the brush as you comb towards the tip. Here’s a little trick: apply a layer of mascara, coat it with a thin layer of powder (note: very thin layer!), then finish it with a coat of mascara. The powder and mascara will combine to give your lashes a much fuller appearance.
Alternatively, you can opt for an eyelash primer as opposed to the powder. A primer adds length and makes your mascara colour pop. To top it off, some mascaras and primers are laced with lash-lengthening serum.
If you want amazing, instant results, save up to get your eyelash extensions professionally done. This give you longer and fuller lashes for 2 – 6 weeks. However, with extensions, you need to be extra careful when washing your face and cleaning around the eye area. Despite your best care, from our experience, it’s a matter of time before you will need to go for a touch-up or re-do session to maintain the look. Along with tedious maintenance, we’re also not a fan of the service’s price tag.
This may seem like really basic knowledge, but it’s definitely worth the emphasis. Everything starts with hygiene, and so does makeup removal. Ensure all your makeup is removed and that there’s no residue left before you go to bed. If mascara and other eye makeup are left on for too long, they will clog up your pores and inhibit lash growth. In worse cases, this might even cause an eye infection.
Look for caster oil or coconut oil, both of which are known to help hair grow longer and healthier. It is even said to help make lashes more curled. Just dip a cotton bud into the oil and brush it gently across the base of your lashes towards the tip. Once done, dab it lightly with a tissue to absorb the excess oil. You can sleep with it or leave it on for a couple of hours before wiping it off. Make sure the oil is given sufficient time to seep in and work its magic. Be careful with this method, though, as you don’t want too much oil around your eye area – it might clog your follicles and give you pimples.
