It’s the most wonderful time of the year (for fashion that is)! In the midst of fashion weeks around the world, designers had a chance to parade their creations on one of the biggest stages, the Oscars.

With all eyes on the red carpet, designers outdid themselves this year with designs, fabrics, and patterns that wow-ed us all. Here are our top designer picks!

1 Armani

The Italian fashion house seemed to have been celebs’ top pick this awards season with nominees strutting the carpet in dramatic couture gowns. Nicole Kidman and Emma Roberts stunned in intricate designs while Viola Davis and Isabelle Huppert took a subtle route with their dresses looking nothing less than 100!

2 Dior

Christian Dior is a classic brand that exudes elegance and it was no surprise that it was a go-to design house for this year’s Academy Awards. Focusing on unique fabric and grand silhouettes, Dior’s gowns easily stood out on the scarlet carpet.

Tulle, shimmer, embroidery, and lace graced the red carpet with fan fav Chrissy Teigen and Ginnifer Goodwin. Teigen rocked a high slit embroidered number that turned heads while Goodwin donned a coral dress that was absolutely immaculate.

4 Elie Saab

Elie Saab gowns are showstoppers and they did just that at the 2017 Oscars red Carpet. Janelle Monae struck a pose in an intricately beaded design that took the fashion scene by storm while Meryl Streep looked remarkable in a custom off-shoulder navy dress.

The British brand showed off striking gowns with beautiful prints and tailoring. Hailee Steinfeld and Priyanka Chopra both opted for Ralph and Russo dresses in floral and patchwork designs respectively.

6 Marchesa

Inspired by femininity and classic silhouettes, the American brand outdid itself at this years red carpets. Octavia Spencer looks breath-taking in a custom Marchesa number with an empire waistline that drifted down to a feathery skirt. Olivia Culpo wore an eco-friendly and unique dress to the Oscars. Made out of chalice pieces, the dress aims mimics cascading water droplets to bring attention to the global water crisis.
