Most makeup tips and tutorials don’t apply to Asian eyes because not all soul windows are the same.

So today, we’re sharing Asian eye makeup trends and know-hows to all you Malaysian and Asian babes!

1 Single Lid Stunner

Instead of trying to cram several colours onto a thinner or single lid, try applying two contrasting eyeliner colours instead. This trick tends to stand out better on single eyelids as there are no creases to smudge or hide the lines.

Another look that’s particularly stunning on single eyelids is the dramatic cat-eye. Who needs multi-coloured eye shadow when you’ve got bold cat eyes?

2 Eyes Wide Open

Whether you’ve got big or small eyes, it’s good to apply makeup that appears to “open up” your eyes. When your eyes look “opened”, you appear fresher and more awake. Apply white eyeliner on your inner-bottom eyelid, on the inner corners of your eyes, and below your eyebrows. This acts as mock lighting on your eyes, making them appear brighter and fresher.

Now that you’ve opened the windows (to your soul), you’ve got to draw open the curtains – your eyelashes. Curl it with an eyelash curler, then apply a generous amount of mascara on your top and bottom lids. This makes your eyes look larger and more awake.

3 Smoking Hot Eyes

The smokey eye makeup is a trick you have to have in your bag. It works on any eye shape with any number of lids.

The 3 simple steps from this tutorial:

  • Apply a metallic shade onto the centre of your lid. Focus the colour on the centre and don’t apply it too far above your crease line.
  • Apply a dark matte colour along the hollows of your eyes from the outer corners to the centre of your eye.
  • Apply an even darker colour along your lash line.

That’s it, 3 simple steps for a smokey eye look! Simply change up the colours and colour intensity to wear it to work, on a date, or to a brunch sesh!

4 Waterproof Eyes

In humid weather, waterproof eye makeup is a necessity. What with the heat and sweat, then tears from the heat and sweat, it’s important to have waterproof eye makeup so that your look lasts longer!

Before applying your makeup, try an eyeshadow primer which helps with your makeup’s lasting power. Make sure your eyeliner and mascara are waterproof too!

5 Bold & Bushy Brows

Inspired by Korean pop culture, the bushy eyebrow is taking the beauty world by storm. Straighter and thicker eyebrows help you appear more youthful and gives you a more innocent look as opposed to arched eyebrows.

To achieve this look, use a concealer to cover the top of your arch and the end of your eyebrows if they grow downwards too much. This helps create a straighter eyebrow look. Then, from the front of your brows, use a brow pencil or a brow brush to draw a mostly straight line (with a slight curve) to the end of the top and bottom of the thick part of your brows (see image above). Lastly, fill your brows in!

Perfecting these eyebrows might take a bit of practice, so good luck and have fun!
