Here are some quick nail fixes for the jet-setting girl. .
Repair a Torn Nail
Nails can be weak or soft, especially when you’re on a beach vacation. Soaking in water for long periods can soften your nails, causing them to tear. The fastest way to fix a torn nail is by using a tea bag.
Most hotels provide tea bags in their hotel rooms. Cut out a piece of the tea bag big enough to cover your tear, then apply a layer of nail glue or top coat to secure the nail. Allow the coat to dry before filing your nail with a nail file. You can finish with a coat of nail polish or leave it bare
Fix a Chipped or Broken Nail
The fastest and easiest way to fix a chipped or broken nail is by filing it down. If your hotel doesn’t provide a nail file in the bathroom, call up housekeeping and ask for one. You’ll find that some hotels don’t put a wide range of grooming tools in every room, but provide them for free when asked. Anyhow, it’s always best to bring along a disposable nail file when you travel.
PS: Make sure you file all your nails to a uniform length or they’ll look tacky!
Repair Chipped Polish
If you’ve decided to get a manicure before travelling, then it’s best to be prepared for the possibility of y chipping. There’s a higher chance of this happening while on vacation as you’d be carrying and moving heavy bags or doing more strenuous activity.
Keep a bottle of polish on hand when you travel, either a top coat or your nail colour. Apply a new coat every 3 – 4 days to avoid excessive chipping. If you don’t have a top coat or if you did your nails at the salon, keep a clear glitter polish with you. These are cheap and easy to find; they also act as a top coat while giving you the added bonus of an accent nail!
