Nail art takes another page from architecture.
Just when you’re getting cosy with the organic beauty of marble nails, fashionistas change it up by adopting the beautiful symmetry of…tile nails.
Tile nails, as in, nails resembling tiles. Think Moroccan tiles or symmetrical patterns that belong on a kitchen backsplash or an ornate plate.
Too afraid to try the trend? Then take a look at how you can try the trend in increasing expertise levels.
Beginners: Just a Hint of Tile
Dip your toes into the trend by picking a simple, repetitive pattern for the whole nail. Get creative with your base colour, or keep certain nails painted in solid colours to neutralise the pattern.
Pick a colour theme and vary the shades to form your tile pattern. Since the colours bring the look together, vary the tile patterns on different nails so that they’re similar but not identical.
You could also choose to have one intricately painted nail, then leave the other 8 nails painted in a simple, matching design.
Now that you’ve fully embraced the tile look, mix it up with colour! Go bold with really bright colours, just make sure to select a few colours and stick to them.
You can also add stickers, gold wire, or gold paint accents to really show off.
