Chin up, beautiful! With these tricks, you won’t have to worry about pesky double chins anymore.
Too much of something can be a bad thing, like double or triple chins which pop out of nowhere in pictures. We’d like to just have one, thank you very much!
While weight gain is the primary cause of double chins, even skinny people appear to have double chins from different angles. This is because as you age, your skin loses elasticity and collagen, making it sag around the chin and neck area. This is when the double chin rears its ugly…chin.
Aside from surgical methods, we’ve found some simple and budget-friendly ways to tackle the problem.
We’re serious about this! Chewing gum not only helps you keep your breath smelling minty fresh and your gums healthy, but it also helps tone your facial muscles. The movement of your jaw when you chew gum is equivalent to a face workout. Make sure it’s sugarless as that can help curb hunger, keeping you from unhealthy snacks and hence weight gain. Double win!
When it comes to camouflaging the double chin, pick clothes that show off some skin around your neck, shoulders, and chest to give the illusion of a slimmer neck and chin. Say no to clothes with high necklines as it only gives emphasis to your chin. For the same reason, stay away from chunky chokers.
3 Contour with Makeup
To hide a double chin using makeup, get a powder, contour powder, or foundation in a shade or two darker than your skin tone. Brush the powder along your jawline from the side of your chin to your ear. Make sure to blend it in so that it looks natural. The “shadow” effect will make the area appear slimmer.
You can also use makeup to highlight other areas, which draws attention away from your chin. Keep your eye makeup on point. After all, the eyes are the windows to the soul!
Use organic cocoa butter on a daily basis to keep the elasticity in your face. Just warm it up in your hands and gently massage it onto your neck and chin. Do this in upward, circular motions twice a day. Be careful not to be too rough with your skin, as you don’t want to give yourself wrinkles!
If you’re not up for gum, set aside a bit of time to do daily chin exercises. This one’s easy – simply tilt your head towards the sky and pucker up. Hold that pose for about 10 seconds and repeat this until 10 minutes is up. This gives you a slimmer chin in the long run.
