Getting a haircut can be a life-changing decision, so we’ve got you covered with what you need to know before chopping it off!

Short hair is great – trendy, light, and refreshing. If you’re thinking of going short, here are some reasons why you should do it, and what you should know!

More and more women are rocking the short hair – from bobs, to pixie cuts, to shaved sides…you name it, they’ve tried ’em all. Since we know how nerve-wrecking a short hair leap of faith is, we thought we’d give you some know-hows to encourage you.

1 Less Styling Time

With short hair, comes easy and quick hair washes. This is fantastic news because you save time and money on shampoo and conditioner. Blow drying becomes a quicker process too! This means less time for hair styling, so you’ll have less of an excuse to not style your short hair. Plus, you wouldn’t be able to conceal a bad hair day as easily as long hair (by throwing it into a bun), so take this new-found opportunity to be a little more diligent in styling your hair!

2 Less Weight

This one’s especially for the ladies with wavy, curly, or frizzy hair. The longer your hair is, the more it weighs, helping it appear straighter and neater. Once you cut it, your hair becomes lighter and will probably curl and frizz more than before. This is why it’s doubly important to style your hair (see number 1)!

3 Detach Yourself

More than we’d like to admit, we all have a sense of attachment to our hair. Make a conscious decision to detach before taking a plunge into the wonderful world of short hair. Otherwise, you might regret your decision to cut it and be unable to enjoy the wonderful possibilities of your new look! A change might just do you good. Besides, it’s gonna grow back!

4 New Tools And Trends

With a new hairstyle comes new hair tools. You’ll definitely need to purchase new styling tools to optimise hairstyling. Depending on how much you cut, you’d need to trade your large or wide-toothed comb for a smaller one. To tame any frizz, you might also need to get anti-frizz shampoos, hair masks, and serums. If you plan to curl your hair and only have hair curlers with large barrels, they might not work for short hair so you’d need to buy curlers with smaller and shorter barrels for easier curling.

5 More Haircuts

Hair grows and with short hair, a bit too quickly for our liking. Short hairdos require more frequent trims to maintain their shape and look. So be prepared for the commitment needed for your new look!
